Barista Express
The Barista Express is an espresso maker that is of top quality and gives you the experience of a cafe right in your home. It offers a wide range of features for those who wish to improve their skills, but it also includes options that help novices get good shots quickly. It is a little more expensive than the other equipment we tested, but it offers an improved quality of performance.
The machine has a thermocoil system that heats up quickly and makes it easy to transition between brewing and steaming. It is among the few machines that can create that perfect layer of steamed milk to make lattes, which is difficult to achieve without a lot of practice. This feature was important to us because we wanted a machine to create the rich, creamy cafe style of coffee we are fond of. The Barista Express was able to accomplish this, but it did take longer than other models we looked at.
best home coffee machine comes with a large tank that can hold 67 pounds. It is easy to refill and comes with an integrated water filter that reduces impurities to keep your coffee fresh. The machine is easy to clean, which is a important feature. Descale the machine at least every 3 months to prevent mineral buildup.
The Barista Express, like the other Breville machines we've test, is specifically designed to help users practice their skills. It doesn't come with certain of the sophisticated features available in other Breville machines, such as an automatic milk maker and an LCD that shows the amount of water or pressure that is being used. This does not mean that the Barista Express won't be a ideal choice for those who want to upgrade their espresso machine.
This model comes with 4 portsafilters, which include both the pressurized and unpressurized versions. The machine also comes with a top-quality, convenient tamper. The tamper is adjustable so you can get the proper amount of pressure making a shot. It also has an infusion stage with low-pressure that helps make sure that the grind is level, and allow for an efficient extraction at 9 bar pressure.
Dual Boiler
The machine was designed by Sage (or Breville in other countries) to provide those who want high-end espresso at home. It is equipped with two unique features that distinguish it from the rest of the competition. It utilizes a bottomless filter which gives the shot a nice look and allows you see the amount of pre-infusion that has taken place. Furthermore, it comes with a manual button which keeps the machine in pre-infusion until you press the manual button once more. This is a fantastic feature that mimics how baristas work in cafes, and makes it a breeze to get a great shot every time.
It also comes with a stunning steam pressure gauge, as well as the ability for you to adjust the pre-infusion power according to the extraction time. This feature is not common on domestic machines, but it makes huge differences to the shots you take. And finally, it has an easy-to-read water level indicator so you can see when it's time to refill.
This machine is different from other Sage models because it features a a double boiler system. It can steam and brew simultaneously, which is very useful when making milk-based drinks. It also has a PID which allows you to control the brew temperature which isn't available on other machines. The only downside to this is that it's more than a single boiler or heat exchanger systems.
Apart from that, the EB590 comes with a number of other wonderful features. For example, it can be programmed to turn off at a certain time so that it's ready when you are. This is an amazing feature that isn't found on other machines. It is an enormous benefit for people who rely on their coffee maker to get them up in the morning.
It also has standby mode and auto shutoff, both of which are extremely beneficial features for energy efficiency. The auto shutoff feature is particularly useful as it will automatically switch off after an hour of inactivity. This will save money on your electric bill, and will also extend the life of the machine.
Oracle
Sage coffee machines are created for the user and this is evident from their range. They have realised that not everyone is willing to take on the challenges of barista-style espresso making and so their machines aim to automatize the process as much as possible whilst allowing users to be involved in the extraction and texturing of milk for cappuccino as well as Latte art. Many of their models also have a built-in burr grinder or can be used with a stand-alone model to provide the full bean to cup experience.
The Oracle is an excellent example. It comes with the dazzling Sage Dual Boiler as its core, and uses it to produce excellent espresso. But then, it adds automatic dosing and tamping for milk texture and eliminates the need for barista training of any level. It also includes other features such as the ability to program pouring settings and the triple heat system. The disadvantage is that it's one of the most expensive coffee machines that are available in the market.
The Duo Temp Pro is a great machine for those who are looking for a Sage machine that is less expensive. It doesn't come with the same app-based technology or pressure gauge as the Oracle one, but it works well. It has a large water tank and can be used with filter coffee, as well as ground coffee. It also comes with a steam wand and an electronic guide display. Its heat up time of just three seconds is awe-inspiring. The majority of commercial machines take much longer to reach the temperature required to extract.
The Sage Precision Brewer is the most recent addition to their range of filter coffee makers and although it's on the top end of the price spectrum for a coffee maker at home, it comes with some special features that make it stand out from the rest of the competition. It includes various fittings for the brew basket so it can be used with different filters. The cone inside is removable to allow you to reuse filters. It also has a handy timer so that you can set it up the night before to make the quick jug of filter coffee in the morning. Its automatic texturing of milk is an excellent feature. You can adjust it to your personal preferences so that you can get an even or smooth brew.
